Plenty to see when SSHF re-opens July 5

We are pleased to be able to welcome our visitors back to the Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fame (SSHF) starting on July 5, 2021. Originally unveiled in September 2020, for the vast majority of our visitors the SSHF will look very different. A new award-wining exhibit, two new galleries, and a new look are available to be explored.

Our featured exhibit is Prairie Pride: A History of Saskatchewan Football which is located in our main gallery. Exploring the history of the province’s love affair with football, Prairie Pride features incredible artifacts from professional, amateur, and women’s football history. The exhibit also features a series of short vignettes on our video wall that will play touch-free upon our opening.

Our second gallery features a small-scale Olympic exhibit which includes artifacts from Olympic and Paralympic inductees. With the event of the 2020 Olympics this summer, the Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fame showcases a selection of past Saskatchewan-based Olympians and Paralympians from 1920 to the modern-day Olympics.

The SSHF also features two new attractions for our visitors.

The balance disk is one of several interactive elements that are part of the STEM Gallery sponsored by SaskTel.

Our Honoured Members are now displayed in a single Hall of Fame Gallery. Our 527 inducted athletes, teams, and builders are all pictured on the walls of the gallery and arranged by year of induction.

iPads will be available to access content on our website to learn more about our inductees. For the foreseeable future visitors may be more comfortable exploring the inductees through our website on their own devices.

The STEM Gallery sponsored by SaskTel highlights the role of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math in sports. Not all of our interactive exhibits are open at this time to ensure the safety of our visitors. However, we are pleased to be able to offer some of the interactive elements that are part of the STEM Gallery that are easily cleaned. Those interactive elements will be sanitized after each visitor has used them. You can read more regarding our sanitization procedures on our interactive elements and the Hall of Fame at large here.

We are also pleased to be able to offer the use of our multi-sport simulator. To reduce the amount of sports equipment being handled by our visitors, we will be limiting the simulator to one sport each day and then sanitizing the necessary equipment for that sport.

Our adaptive curling ice is also available for use with the same cleaning protocols in place after use.

We ask that you access our online booking system to secure your timed entry prior to visiting. Feel free to refer to our ‘Planning Your Trip’ section on our website before your visit as well.
