The Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fame is looking to hire four people in three roles.

The Hall of Fame is looking for a Summer Programming Lead to lead and coordinate the SSHF education and public programming offerings throughout the summer. Included is planning, coordinating and managing the Creating Active Champions facilitated summer education program which will be executed by two Summer Program Assistants, planning and coordinating community programming as well as coordinating with SSHF community partners to develop unique programming offerings throughout the summer.

The Hall of Fame will also be hiring two Summer Program Assistants. The SSHF is looking for energetic, outgoing applicants to deliver and facilitate our Creating Active Champions facilitated summer education program.

In addition to those three summer jobs, the SSHF will be hiring a part-time Collections Management Assistant to execute the ‘Clothing Textile Preservation’ project at the SSHF. This role is 15 hours/week for 30 weeks, with the ability for a flexible work schedule within the SSHF’s regular operating hours.

The SSHF is looking for an organized and process-driven induvial to assist in an exciting project that will see the reorganization of the majority of the SSHF’s textile collection from textile boxes to a new hanging storage space.

Job Opening – Summer Program Assistants – Education

The Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fame (SSHF) is looking for two Summer Program Assistants – Education

The Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fame is a progressive not-for-profit mid-sized NGO museum located in Regina. The SSHF is proud to be a truly accessible attraction in the province’s capital. Our donation-by-admission structure, proximity to bus stops, and interactive exhibits that can adapt to a variety of needs, allow children and families from all backgrounds and abilities to learn about the benefits of sport.

Our Creating Active Champions facilitated summer program provides children and their caretakers with fun, affordable opportunities for activity and learning.

The focus of the program is to let the participants excel at their own pace while building self-esteem and positive mental health as they learn through play, experience the joy of having fun and make new friends. After the program is completed, participants will have increased physical literacy and leave with low- to no-cost ways to stay active and have fun while also learning a little about the great sport history of Saskatchewan.

The SSHF is looking for energetic, outgoing applicants to deliver and facilitate this program.

Job Details:

In conjunction with the Education Coordinator and the Summer Programming Lead, the Program Assistant will:

  • Assist with the development and delivery of our summer education program, Creating Active Champions, to children 5-12 years of age through in-person and outreach activations.
  • To assist with the expansion of new in-house programs and/or education programming related to current and planned exhibits through research, identification and organization of program content.
  • Assist with off-site activations and programming as required.
  • Other museum work tasks as assigned by supervisor

Funded through Canada Summer Jobs, this position begins on June 30, 2025, and concludes on August 22, 2025. The hourly salary is $18.00.

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Experience or interest in working with young children is required
  • Strong communication (presentation and inter-personal) skills are required
  • Ability to work independently & as part of a team
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Knowledge of basic museum practices and/or an interest in Saskatchewan sport history would be beneficial
  • Valid vulnerable sector police check must be provided
  • Valid drivers license

Job Opening – Collections Management Assistant

The Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fame (SSHF) is looking for a Part-time Collections Management Assistant

The Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fame is looking for an organized and process-driven induvial to assist in an exciting project that will see the reorganization of the majority of the SSHF’s textile collection.

The SSHF is home to over 20,000 unique artifacts, with almost 5% of our collection being ‘textiles’ – jackets, jerseys and other clothing that represent Saskatchewan’s rich sport history.

The Part-time Collections Management Assistant will execute the ‘Clothing Textile Preservation’ project at the Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fame which aims to rehouse the current clothing collection which is primarily stored in textile boxes to a new hanging storage space.

This position is 15 hours/week for 30 weeks, with the ability for a flexible work schedule within the SSHF’s regular operating hours, The hourly salary is $20.00.  This is a hands-on, physical position that requires the ability to lift heavy boxes and work on your feet for the duration of your shift. Strong work ethic, attention to detail and organizational skills are a must.

Overall position duties will include:

  • Review of all textile collection inventory which includes:
    • Conducting up-to-day condition reporting on all textile artifacts, developing a process for identifying any items that may need conservation intervention
    • Ensuring all SSHF records and databases associated with each item are correct and up-to-date
    • Maintaining and following strict processes to keep inventory organized and safe throughout the relocation project
  • Digitization of textile collection as required including:
    • Setting up and photographing any textiles that are not already photographed
    • Saving images in the appropriate folder with proper identification
    • Uploading to online database as needed
  • Prep and management of a new storage solution
    • Prep designated storage area for hanging storage installation including removal and rehousing of material from designated area to other locations in SSHF storage
    • Ordering and management of all physical supplies needed for proper conservation of project
    • Weekly cleaning and checks of all storage areas
  • Transfer of artifacts to the new storage solution
    • Proper handling and recording of the transfer of textile items from textile box storage to hanging storage
    • Organization based on accession number or material type, as recommended
    • Ensuring new location is updated in all SSHF databases and records

Position Evaluation

Success in the position will result in:

  • Full rehousing of the clothing textile artifacts into the new storage solution
  • Proper organization of clothing textile connection by accession number and/or material
  • Proper upkeep and maintenance of all digital assets and documentation

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Proven experience in inventory management and database maintenance
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to develop and follow consistent processes is required
  • Ability to work alone and independently demonstrating project progress weekly
  • Familiarity with basic museum standards and conservation practices considered an asset
  • Ability to lift and move heavy boxes

Job Opening: Summer Programming Lead

The Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fame (SSHF) is looking for one (1) Summer Programming Lead to lead and coordination the SSHF education and public programming offerings throughout the summer.

The Summer Programming Lead will ‘run point’ on a number of dynamic education and visitor experience activities:

  • Planning, coordinating and managing the Creating Active Champions facilitated summer education program which will be executed by two Summer Program Assistants
  • Plan and coordinate community programming including: I Love Regina Day, Summer in the Square and other public activation opportunities as they present themselves
  • Liaison and coordinate with SSHF community partners to develop unique programming offerings throughout the summer season

In addition, the role will be provided with the opportunity to develop and revise in-house education offerings for the upcoming school year as well as contribute towards the planning of the Annual Induction Dinner and Ceremony that takes place annually in September.

This position is public-facing and includes front desk duties such as: opening and closing museum, answering phone calls, greeting visitors and other visitor experience tasks as assigned.

This  position begins on June16, 2025 and concludes on August 22, 2025. The hourly salary is $18.00.

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Ability to develop cohesive and actionable programming plans, and execute on those plans with minimal supervision and within tight timelines
  • Experience in working with the public, strong customer service skills and the ability to facilitate groups of participants in various activities
  • Strong communication (presentation and inter-personal) skills are required including email etiquette, the ability to participate and follow-up on team and collaborative meetings
  • Ability to work independently & as part of a team
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Knowledge of basic museum practices and/or an interest in Saskatchewan sport history would be beneficial
