The Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fame’s Behind the Inductee for October features 2026 inductee Brianne Theisen-Eaton. Hall of Fame communications coordinator Matthew Gourlie sat down with Brianne in April to discuss her career and journey from her hometown of Humboldt to the University of Oregon to an Olympic medal podium. Theisen-Eaton shares the challenges along the way from trying a new event, to having a breakthrough on the world’s stage and ultimately the adversity she faced in some of the biggest competitions of her career.
The Behind the Inductee feature is part of a monthly series where the Hall of Fame goes behind the stories of Saskatchewan sport history. Last month, curator Robyn Jensen went Behind the Artifact with Canadian hockey legend Hayley Wickenheiser. In August and July, we went Behind the Inductee with Ross Wilson and Dorenda Bailey. In June, Robyn went Behind the Artifact with 2019 inductee Wendel Clark.
