Game Changers: Pride in Sport

Start Date: Monday, June 1, 2026
End Date: Friday, August 28, 2026

Game Changers: Pride in Sport is the Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fame’s newest exhibit. With the start of Pride month in June, the Hall of Fame is highlighting the stories and achievements of 2SLGBTQIA+ athletes and organizations local to the province.

Featured in the exhibit are artifacts and stories from SSHF inductees Jacki Nichol (captain of the Canadian Olympic softball team), Shannon Miller (head coach of Canada’s first Olympic women’s hockey team) and builder Karin Lofstrom, plus Canadian Olympic hockey gold medalist Emily Clark. Also included are stories and information about groups in Saskatchewan who offer spaces for 2SLGBTQIA+ people to compete in sport in a welcoming space and community.

As part of the exhibit, Oliver Tymo, who did the research and put together the exhibit, will host a discussion on the research and curation of the exhibit at 6 p.m. on Thursday, June 11, at the Hall of Fame. The event is free of charge, with donations accepted.
