As the Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fame (SSHF) launches into our next half century, and as Canada celebrates its 1-5-0, we’re heading back on the road!
In 2016, we officially launched our first-ever Traveling Exhibit. A converted 53-foot semi-trailer filled to the brim with artifacts that speak to Saskatchewan’s rich sport history embarked on an ambitious provincial tour. In total, we attended 45 communities in 58 days, traversing Saskatchewan and racking up 10,304 kms. In 2017, we are thrilled to be visiting numerous communities once again while taking part in their special Canada 1-5-0 celebrations!
When you enter the trailer you will be instantly transported back in time to some of Saskatchewan’s proudest sports moments. Every effort has been made to include as many of our inductees and represented sports as possible. Special attention has also been given to football, hockey, curling and major sporting events. With plenty to see and do, residents will not want to miss the opportunity to see our traveling exhibit when it rolls into town.
The SSHF is very excited about one traveling roadshow stop in particular. From August 6-8 we will be parked in Winnipeg, Manitoba, the host site of the 2017 Canada Summer Games. This will be the first out-of-province stop for the Traveling Exhibit.
